| Extensive research was the foundation for the design of this authentic African environment. The design immerses visitors in a sensory story line that features extensive indoor and outdoor exhibit and planting areas and pedestrian pathways. The centrepiece of the indoor exhibit is a 200,000-litre pool designed to look like a river bend, a favourite hippo bathing spot. Visitors can watch hippos swimming underwater through a 28-metre-long clear-span window. | |||||||||||||||||
