| This exhibit showcases the habitats and wildlife of the African rainforest in a total immersion experience with few apparent barriers between visitors and animals. An indoor facility provides a total rainforest simulation as natural light filters through a canopy of African trees and plants. The design of all behind-the-scenes facilities involved extensive collaboration with zoo keepers and curators, resulting in significant improvements over existing facilities and enhanced convenience of daily tasks. | |||||||||||||||||
