St. Michael's is a 210-bed continuing care centre using innovative planning principles. The centre is conceptually organized as a "home," "neighbourhood" and "community." The home is the fundamental unit in any community; at St. Michael's, the homes consist of eight to 12 occupant rooms in a residential-style environment supporting all aspects of daily living including an active social life.
